What better excuse to get out the gladrags, or buy new ones, than Christmas.
Get togethers with friends and family, a Christmas do or two, and the big one. New Year’s Eve.
So an invite over to Very in Liverpool again, was a must, just to ogle their party wear, for both the ladies and gents. Glitz, glam, and all the sequins a girl can handle.
Which is what caught my eye immediately.
Shimmer, shine – I couldn’t help it. This silver sequined pretty is almost mirror ball perfect, and a red sequinned velvet that added texture.
And I was thrilled to see colour. I love colour – whether it’s a kick of colour to accompany a plainer outfit, or something bigger and bolder. I want my look to be individual, and these brights mean it will. Little black dress with a striking pink coat, or bright pink dress, catching the eye as soon as you take off your big winter coat.
A pair of sparkly shoes, bag or fluffy jacket – the accessories can just make it sing.
And this bag with it’s bejewelled bees? I might need it a little bit. And so will half of Manchester.
And in the plus specific section, everyone was fawning over this coat. The fit was generous – an 18 going over my ever broadening shoulders (lifting girl problems) without a hitch.
For the gents, I was all over these Ted Baker suede shoes, and these white, brogue inspired sports shoes, with a sneaky little koi sole.
And the gents weren’t immune to a little colour – nor a little pattern. V by Very are going in for the patterns – making me a very happy lady.
But one of my favourite outfits, from Monsoon, is for someone a little bit smaller than me. And a bit younger.
First I fell for the red cape.
Then the matching dress and shoes.
But it was the bag that sealed the deal.
Any chance Monsoon, that you can make this in a size a little, er more grown up? Please?
