I have to admit, Mr GFB and I don’t really do Valentine’s Day. I haven’t figured out if it’s because we’re such a pair of old marrieds, or something else. Either way, if he buys me a bunch of flowers or a box of chocolates for any reason, I’m happy.
I know after speaking to friends, there are gestures going from the small (bottle of wine, Love Film and a takeaway) through to the extravagant (I can’t really go into detail, it’s a surprise, but someone’s being whisked away. Not jealous. Honest.).
I have to admit though, that if you do decide to buy presents, it’s not easy. You want to spend a bit of money, but not too much. You don’t want something tacky or maybe even traditional, you want something unique.
Selfridges at the Trafford Centre just might have you covered with the launch of Love…Is PEANUTS.
This is the first PEANUTS art pop up (I think in the world) and lovers of Snoopy, Woodstock and Charlie Brown will find images from the archive available for personalisation.
The art prints come in three sizes: classic framed (£29.99), unframed (£14.99), large framed (£59.99) unframed (£34.99) and extra large framed (£149.99), unframed (£74.99). And will be available at Selfridges Trafford from Tuesday 11 Feb on the Upper Level.
And if that wasn’t enough, a professional hand engraver and a calligrapher will be in both Selfridges Exchange Square and Selfridges Trafford on selected days this week, to add that truly personal touch to shoppers’ gifts.
I’m rather fond of the idea of a personalised bottle of Bombay Sapphire, which you can buy today, Thursday 13 February (12-5pm) for that special someone.
Why say it with flowers, when you can say it with gin?
