I’m on a countdown. A countdown to a holiday.
It’s been ages since we’ve been away properly – I mean really away, phone switched off, offline, hiding away from the rest of the world away. It’s hard to do, it means scheduling and email ‘out of office’ being set up, and planning to the nth degree to ensure social media etc doesn’t suffer.
But I can’t bloody wait.
And I must. Because it isn’t until October. And so for now, my temporary reprieve from it all will be in the form of spa days and days away.
Which brings us to today’s post. Spurred on by a need for a little TLC, and well, warmth, and a new swimming costume from UK Swimwear to test out, a couple of my closest ladies and I booked a spa treat.
Along with a deep massage to release those knots of tension, we spent the rest of the evening lounging about, playing in the shower and sweating it out in the saunas. Perhaps our only disappointment was the lack of pool and jacuzzi.
As did the new swimsuit. I struggle a bit when it comes to finding the right one. I’m average height, but forever suffer with ‘long body, short legs’. There are few things more potentially embarrassing by the poolside, than a swimsuit that only just covers your boobs. It’s an accident just waiting to happen.
One minute you’re swimming a length, the next… Ooops. It’s hard to tell who would be more traumatised, me or the other pool-goers.
So the one I chose from the list on the site was one from Miraclesuit. Whilst I couldn’t care less about the tummy control etc, it was more the adjustable straps and that I’ve bought this brand before and it has actually fit without me having to buy a size too big, or perform some sort of intricate manoeuvre with the gusset. And whilst it does all the above, it still looks nice, rather than something that’s more function over fashion.
From a science geek perspective it was hard not to appreciate the spectrum effect of the side panels. I mean they almost glow.
This little beauty is going to get a lot of use for the holiday, and (as I probably will need another treat between now and then) spa days. I’ve already bought the perfect cover up to go with it.
I can’t wait to float around the poolside.
