We’re nudging ever closer to Valentine’s Day and I don’t know about you, but I still haven’t bought anything for Mr GFB. I’m a little disorganised in this respect and know full well he’ll be ready to present me with something fabulous and I’ll have rushed round to find him something last minute.
So, when The Brownie Post asked if I’d mind them sending me some goodies to try… well the answer certainly wasn’t going to be no! Both of us are partial to a little chocolate, as seen in my Drop Dead Chocolates review and Mr GFB in particular loves brownies.
They arrived this morning and just like Drop Dead, the size of the box is perfect for a letterbox – so no being disturbed by the postie banging on the door in the morning and ideal for a little surprise gift for your loved one.
The smell of chocolatey goodness hits you as soon as you open the box – wrapped in paper and a blue ribbon, with a card inserted not only for that love note, but with the details of your gift – it’s comforting to know that if you need gluten free it’s available, as well as flavours for every kind of brownie lover. Pecan and Bourbon, Sour Cherry, Salted Caramel are all on offer, as well as your traditional gooey double chocolate. All handbaked and produced in Manchester from those behind And The Dish Ran Away With The Spoon.

Steeling myself to break my marathon training no carbs rule (all in the name of research you know) I bit in.
And spoke no words for a while.
I savoured that brownie, I enjoyed every second. It was heaven. Rich, chocolatey with that slightly crisp sugary outside and squidgy chocolatey moreish inner.
Forcing myself (after all I’m doing this for you, you understand), to try the gluten free variety. Oh boy. There’s a slight difference in sweetness, but these are just as amazing. They’ve got these spot on in every way.
Now on a slight chocolate high, I’m searching for my credit card so I can put an order in now. In fact, I’m going to go as far to suggest that when Mother’s Day rolls around, I can think of a lot of mums who would love to receive these in the post.

I am truly thankful for the self sacrifices you made in the name of research. Fab post. I now want brownies.
And you know exactly where to get them from….
