This weekend the clocks go back, I’m currently struggling through my first cold of the season, and this week, the knitwear finally made it’s way out of the wardrobe. Even my ‘office cardigan’ has made it’s way onto the back of my chair.
But there are upsides to the change in the season. You can wear all the knitwear that’s been packed away under the bed. You can wear opaque tights (and maybe not worry about shaving your legs so often). Food becomes heavier, stodgier, richer.
And Cocktails in the City returns to Manchester.
It’s long been a staple for my diary – and it’s easy to see why.
Fire and ice. Creativity, music, and lots and lots of booze.
A showcase of the best of the cities bars getting creative with a paired spirit, to create a cocktail experience for everyone who attends. And this year promises to be yet more of the same. 25 bars are taking part, at the new venue, New Century Hall. Set out across two floors, there are also new tasting rooms for you to visit, the opportunity to perfect your cocktail making skills with espresso Martinis, and live DJ sets all night.
Even better, I have a pair of tickets to either the Friday or Saturday night, your choice, to give away. Fancy it? Entry is easy.
Just comment below, telling me what your favourite spirit is. Are you a gin drinker? Vodka lover? Or more of a whisky fan? Bonus entries are available.
And now for the science bit.
